1 percent technology; 99 percent perspiration

Having a conversation with your customers is the latest thing in marketing. “We need feedback.” “If people are seen to take an interest others will come.” “We need visible engagement to be seen as relevant.”

Putting aside the fact that some conversations are more meaningful than others, there are many tools available to help brands converse with their audience (blogging, Twitter, Facebook to name but a few). But it is content and not tools that will win the day…

What ‘the web is dead’ means for marketers

This WIRED article has been buzzing around the internet for a week or two. Chris Anderson, the WIRED editor, proclaims that the web is dead, long live the internet. By this he means that people are using things like mobile and desktop apps more and browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome etc) less.

So if you are relying on your website for sales and marketing this could spell trouble.
