BRIEF
Use the recently opened Facebook platform to distribute video content across the web.
APPROACH
With so many Big Brother vehicles out there we knew that this little app would have to offer something different to get noticed.
The idea was to mimic the mechanic of the show by evicting users from the app if their chosen housemate is evicted. There was then a prize of exclusive wrap party tickets for 3 winners who were chosen from all those supporting the winning housemate.
We developed an XML feed that could pull in 4 daily clips and associated metadata, allowing people to view and rate clips and allowing Channel 4 to distribute video anywhere across the web.
RESULTS
21,000 app downloads
First effective use of Facebook platform delivered to Channel 4 and a simple web protocol developed for video distribution.
